My finds today... Also my FIRST finds!

Today is the first day I actually went out and tried out my metal detector. I was only able to get out for a couple of hours but still managed to walk away with a few things worthwhile. One of the things I have to deal with here is the regular types of trash but also HUGE amounts of leftover expended training rounds and simulators. I found one cool old bottle as well and some sort of steel/iron? piece that I can't figure out what it is. Also found a quarter and a nickel, the quarter looks to be a '88 and I can't see a date on the nickel but it's a Jefferson. All in all I worked for 15 cents an hour today and loved every minute of it! I'm definitely hooked and can't wait to get out again!

keep searching... I usually find one cool item per hunt.. so the more you hunt the more you'll find... research old maps for cellar holes... you'll soon be hooked!

I've got the big metal hunk soaking in soapy water and have cleaned a little off of the riveted on piece and it appears to be some kind of serial number plate. Hopefully more will come off tomorrow and I can ID it.
