So yesterday on my way home from work I needed to stop by my local bank that I keep my play money in so that I could get the money for my new metal detector I'm going to buy, while there I decided I would try this coin roll hunting I have been reading about on here.

So I asked the teller if they had any halves and she said "nope", then I remember reading on here that quarters are pretty much a waste of time. So I then asked how many dimes they had and she said $250 which seeing as how that was how much money I was after I said that will work.

Then I when I got home with $250 in dimes my wife looked at me like I was an idiot. I started going through all of them and it wasn't looking good, but finally I found a little silver. I wound up with 2 silver dimes, a 1963-D and a 1954-D ;D.

This seems to be a very fun hobby, because I love going through coins anyways. So I guess I should say thanks to everyone for helping me find another way to waste a little time.

well lets see --lets say you put out $250 BUCKS that if in there all year would yeild at 1 percent interest $2.50 max ( plus it taxible)--now by taking it out and getting 2500 dimes to look thru --you got two 90% silver dimes --current full melt value of a 90% dime is $2.65 cents each -total value $5.70 -- say local coin shop pays oh - 1.60 each that $3.20 --deduct the 20 cent invested --that $3 clear profiet and non taxed to boot --plus once you "replace" the 20 cents back -- you still got your starter $250 -- fiscally speaking you can not lose since the coins you get at "face value" will always be worth "face value" --and the only cost is the "replacement coin" if its silver -- which the silver coins value will more than cover * -plus its replacement coin "face value wize" is exactly the same coin wize. --dime for dime, quarter for quarter .

its like buying lotto tickets where you MIGHT WIN but can not lose money.

Since you are new at the hobby, go out an hit it hard. There always seems to be beginners luck with CRHing.

My first find was a solid roll of JFK's...I hope you get the same or more!!!!
