I found this axe head this morning and I couldn't be more happy. Got to be one of my best finds ever. I can't believe I have been living so near such a good field for so many years and never took the time to go look. I always thought the farm I grew up on in Alabama was somehow unique in containing artifacts, and here in Michigan I have a field that is as good or better than the farm I grew up on.

It's got a few small disk scars, but they contrast to show the patina. One side is much flatter than the other, the back tapers to a great peen, and the blade is nice and clean.

Very nice and great color! Looks like a Celt

I agree with Rock about looking like a celt. It's a heck of a nice find! Congratulations.

That is a nice one for sure. You never know what is just down the road. Sounds like your new field will be as good as it gets. Beautiful celt/axe. Nice find.
