Went to my bank and asked for a box of halves. She asked me if they were for a business or am I just going through them. I said they were't for a business and I just collect them. Haven't had a chance to loom at the, but I am wondering how do you return the non silver halves... (coinstar charges 10%) (My bank charges 5% for loose coins) (or do you just return rolled coins)? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I re-roll them. Most banks don't like to sell you large quantity (rolls/boxes) of coins if you are going to bring back the searched ones. You can take them to a different branch or better yet, open up an account at a new bank or credit union that has a no-fee coin machine and dump them there. Good luck and happy hunting. Let us know on this thread what you find......

Take them to another branch or open a different account. They're going to not like you real quick if you take coins from them and bring them back. Twice the work for no return.

As the saying goes, don't crap where you eat!

You're getting the right info Johnn5 , go ahead and get some cheap accounts (no fees) in your town . Credit Unions here in Santa Fe seem to have most of the coin counters in the lobby - accessible to the public , so I joined all of them to be able to dump coins . Keep your coin buying banks separate from your coin dumping banks as much as possible.
