You sure that isn't a button with a date on it? Sure is mighty thin.

But, whatever it is, it's a cool find!

Thank you. The bad part is that it is my first coin. I may never top that find.

Awesome 1st coin. :occasion14: For most of us our 1st coin was a clad "something". How many times have you detected prior to this hunt? I'd guess your primarily a field digger?

I have found clad but this is the first old coin I have found. I don't call clad coins. I have been detecting for a couple month's. This item was in my front yard.

Being that DE is "The First State" you have many opportunities to find more pre 1800 and 1700 coins. GL & HH.

I knew right away, and before reading the comments, it wasn't a 19th c coin. Then I thought exactly what everyone else was saying. CT copper! What a beauty!

Ehhh...don't let it sour you, DD7. My first coin was a 1912 V Nickel...But my first silver quarter gave me a bigger rush.

I'm just glad I found the coin. I was having better luck finding old coins in my spare change jar then I was with my detector. Lol.

Well done on the 1788 CT Copper
Great find. It's going to be hard to beat that.
At least you have a front yard that probably has more.
Good luck buddy
