My first colonial(?) shoe buckle(?)

Took advantage of the late winter heat wave and went to my standby home site from early 1800s. I've put 100+ hours into this site so most of the delicious high tones are gone. About 20 minutes into my sesh, I hit a hard 90 both ways on my at pro. My heart raced when I saw this baby. I'm guessing it's for a woman or child judging by the size. It measures about 2.25" x 1.5". It still has some silver plating on it. A hunch tells me maybe it's not colonial and could be later, maybe early 1800's. What do you guys think? Either way, I'm stoked to have a first!

That's in really good shape nice display piece well worth all the hours.

It's still a nice buckle. These came into fashion during Queen Victoria's reign. The give away is that buckle is stamped, not cast.
