My first copper! well sort of and a coin? token?

Well, this one is a penny, well it was I think. it appears to be copper and no zinc but I could not find any way to tell what it used to be. I guess it might be the closest thing to a "Copper" that I have a hope of finding in this neck of the woods, LOL. The second thing, well I don't know what it is either, it is about the size of a quarter and has these words, "first president 1791 and says George Washington". it appears to have the same bust on both sides. I figure it is something common but I don't have a clue. Any ideas?

could be, I don't think it is a coin at all but is pretty heavy. probably tourist junk

I searched Google and found this:

Could be from one of the early presidential token sets. Over the years I think there have been 3 or 4 sets made from different metals.

The GW thing looks like the "tourist junk" you mentioned. However I am calling ancient Roman period copper on the other target.

It's a George Washington Commemorative Funeral Medal, made with a hole in the top. Its not exactly a coin or a token, but a medalion to honor GW. I have one too, but finding specifics about when and where they are from is not very easy. However I'm sure someone will soon chime in with more info.

thanks everyone for the help, I have never seen a penny quite this worn if it is a penny. the token/ medal was confusing too
