I had been using the ACE 250 and was used to listening to the tones in the Jewelry mode and then up graded to the AT GOLD. I had immediately went to the Discm 1 with Iron set at 34 so that I could continue using the familiar tones and began finding stuff. However, I knew that I was not utilizing the machine to its best capabilities since I had read and heard that the All Metal Mode was deeper and more sensitive but this meant my tones would be gone. I pretty much dig any good repeatable signals anyways as long as it isn't iron (for the most part) so I decided to give it a try. After ground balancing and adjusting the threshold, I went to work, digging the usual stuff. Zincoids, real pennies, a couple of nickles, a zipper, six dimes, a quarter, small brass hinge, brass electrical connector, brass dog collar buckle, a matchbox mini van, a piece of a toy helicopter, the usual pull tabs and rings, foil, wire, aluminum cans and my second whistle in a week. It is a really cool one, adjustable and most likely a dog whistle... I plan to try it out on the way t town on the local dogs. LOL. All in all, a pretty easy transition but I know I that I have a lot to learn, this is a different machine in this mode and this is a good thing. The threshold thing takes a little getting used to but is doable. Just wanted to say thanks again for the help and encouragement from you all.

Just like any good machine, there's a bit of a learning curve. But, usually, once learned you can't figure out how you ever did without. LOL

Just take it slow and pay attention to what it's telling you. It's talking all the time! :)
