Okay, so it was just a clad dime (1996 D), but it is the fifth coin I've found in less than 2 months of MD. This brings me to 3 pennies, 1 dime, and 1 quarter--all from the 1990s or later. Gee, 38 cents in less than 2 months! Retirement, here I come! :D

Great job Lynn! One of these times it's going to be an old one. I started detecting last September and it's an incredible feeling when you pull an 1800s or 1700 s coin. They're out there just waiting for you to swing over :-)

Outstanding Lynn! You only missed silver by two years! Keep at it, the really good stuff is soon to come.

Keep up the good work!

Look at it this way.The best is yet to come..HH

One day and hopefully soon, you will make a old silver coin find that will make you float to your car in excitement when its time to go home. I have before, lol. My treasure hunting motto is, It is out there, can you find it.

Good work, keep looking!

Thanks, Bobby, I am way ahead of you on the research. The road we live on was a stagecoach road and a turnpike in the 1800s, it saw the Cherokee nation pass by on their way to Oklahoma in 1838, it saw Nathan Bedford Forrest and his men ride by on their raid of Murfreesboro in 1862, and the 1st Kentucky Volunteer Infantry camped less than 2 miles from our house from Jan. to June of 1863. (I'm a librarian--can you tell?) I am hoping to find some interesting relics in the months to come. I love my new hobby!
