First I want to thank everyone on the forum, because when Im frustrated, there are stories on here that keep me going!! Im in a bank almost 7 days a week CRH, and it only took 3 months for this....Serious silver vein perhaps....

"Hi, Can I get some halves". sure I have one roll, and whats in my tray....I hear the distinctive clink. "Sure that'll work, I'll take them all, my son will love them. Also, can I get as many dimes as you have please?" You'll have to see the teller(3 spots down).

I move over to her, she has 3 silver dimes chillin in her tray at the bottom of the rest of the dimes (I decided to have fun with that later). Hi, how ya doin', I'd like to get as many dimes possible. Well how about $200.00? "Sure that'll work....Hey what are those at the bottom of all the dimes? Are those CAD(lol)?" oh oh oh oh no, those are for me...a lil silver, Im buying them for me after I get off. "Oh ok thats cool ((this teller seems very very uncomfortable))". Didnt want to harass her too much, 3 silver dimes at the bottom.

So Im walking out to my car with the loose halve "jingling" in my pocket. Fairly excited bc I know I have one, a little bothered that the teller had 3 dimes....but it soon faded. IN MY CAR, I PEAK AT ONE END OF THE HALF ROLL...SILVER. PEAK AT THE OTHER END....SILVER. Here it comes....god thats a good feeling!!!! 17 out of the 20 are SILVER!!!!!

So I get home, open the dimes. Unreal! Im primarily I dime guy. I had 9 Silver dimes in ONE roll, 5 dimes in one roll, multiple 4 dimes in one roll...35+ dimes in only 11 rolls. And what is blowing my mind, is that they seem to have come from a fountain or somthing where people throw there change in. Too crazy!!

Now Im looking back and piecing this all togehter. Merchant teller has been culling off this vein, and that is why she was super shady. I WILL BE GOING BACK THERE IN UNIFORM ON MONDAY(as i have guard duty for 10 days) and sucking that entire branch of halves, dimes, and quarters.

Please, any advice on how I should approach this (going back to the brach on Monday for the rest????)

Thanks,
GH

PS PICS were taken and coming soon

OMG! Awesome! nice pics too <silver porn>
never had that kind of luck with dimes.....

and for your question, you have to be creative. from experience, you need to come up with a lie for a reason why you need all the coin. i've tried to be honest and tell bank tellers i'm collecting coins and only pull out the ones i'm interested in, but hat almost always results in losing a pick up bank.
so now i just lie (for my business, vending machines, laundromat, poker night etc).

Nice score  Any good dates on the Mercs?

I love being honest with business stuff, but youre right, I think I have to lie in this case. Plus, this aint business, lol. I'll be in uniform, so I'm thinking the poker thing. We are deploying for 10 days....and will be playing poker. :icon_pirat: See dont even have to lie now, ante up with my clads....

Not sure, as I never check dates... Todays 3 mercs puts me at 22 in 3 months. Todays dates were 1926, 1940, 1945.

Any dates I should be looking for?

Couldn't be happier for you. After all the heartache you've had getting skunk after skunk you deserve this. Nice score

Great Score! Congrats

Good luck, hope you can finish out that vein!

Now you're living up to your namesake! Happy indeed :icon_thumleft:

Nice haul, hope you're into a good run of silver!

If you are going to do this you need a red book. One key date dime can get you several thousand dollars. I remember last year or the year before, a new guy posted his Lincoln cents, in them was a 1914 d and no one even noticed. A Red Book is a necessity in this hobby, like a shovel to a grave digger. Congrats on a good find.

Or a Scotty Cameron to a golfer.

Seriously though, Omega, thanks for the Rebook advice, already bought one on Ebay ($13USD). Keith, thanks for taking time to post the date info as well. Good thing I didnt post all 22 merc dates 8)

I'll let everyone know if anything else develops from what I hope to be my little silver mine. :occasion14:
