Found in Harts WV during a creek walk. New to this hobby and I am not really sure what kind I have found.

Congratulations! Nice find! I'm not an expert but I think it looks like a Jacks Reef Corner Notch that is 1,500 to 1,000 years old. That kind can be found in WV. Thanks for sharing! 8-)
 
now that is a very nice first find i like that flint too.take the time too check out the not so nice ones you find too

That is a very nice point! Out that way, there's something called a Vosburg- that looks similar to yours. I'm referencing Noel D. Justice for the description- and only going by what I can see from 1 photo... Honestly, the truth is you have a nice side-notched point. Depending on the details of how it was manufactured, it may be named one thing or another. Sub-categories can be tricky! Regardless of what name or type, you found yourself a very nice first find- and you need to turn that frown upside-down! Go back out there and see what you find- you may be very surprised! (show us everything, hint, hint!) Yakker
