I finally found one. After 6 months I present my first flat button. A tombac button (1730-1830) found by an old rock support structure. Also a lock plate with a cool design.

Congratulations on your first flat button. I've become really fond of finding those! It means you are in the right place to find the old coins!
 

The real find is the keyhole, pretty sure its 18th C!
 

Way to go Ninjafossils! Like Wildcat said, where there are early flat buttons there is usually old coins as well. I see some old large cents and maybe old silver in your future.
