Been at this a couple years now just found my first flying eagle cent , it was under a log as i was working a hot spot i rolled a log and detected it about 3 inches down 1857 is date its worn pretty bad but i am a happy camper , also found a 1894 indian in good shape love the color on this one 4 wheats 1918 1925 and 2 1940 and a toasted buffalo nick

Excellent find and recovery. Looking forward to finding my first flying eagle cent. Bet they will be plenty of them on display at the coin show this weekend.

The Flying Eagle should clean up fairly well...made of nickel and survive far better than copper pennies...
