The mercury dime is my favorite. Thank for posting

Well done. I'll never forget my first and im sure you won't either. They will start to come out more now. Keep at it. Good luck from Milwaukee.

It's always thrilling to get one's first Mercury Dime. A big congratulations!

Congrats, here's to many more! :occasion14:

Grats on your first merc. That is special, no doubt. However, what is the label thingy? It looks to be made of sterling silver. Tell us more about that item, please, and thanks for sharing.

Congratulations! The merc is a beautiful design, always lovely to see one. Here's hoping you'll find many more!

You NEVER forget that first one- Congrats and here's wishing you many more!

I was thinking the silver thing is a garder clip? It is sterling. The inside I believe says R.E. Kniesel?

Whatever it is, it's cool, too!

Next up for you at that spot is a Barber or Seated Liberty, I can feel it. Good luck and congratulations on a really nice Mercury.

I'm so happy you found the silver Merc! Don't call it a wrap in one visit. When you go back dig those signals that were "questionable" the first time out. You might be surprised what lurks underneath!
Hope you find more!

Congrats! The first one is exciting. So was my 2nd and so on. All old silver is a blast to find.

Congrats on your 1st Merc. I hope you gridded the site otherwise I'm sure you missed some goodies. Depending on the permission, if I have the time I hunt a site in multiple grid patterns, i.e. east to west and then north to south and sometimes at a 90 degree angle.

If that property dates to 1840, there’s more to find.. Bigger coil?

Very nice! That’s a beautiful coin every time! Congrats.

Congrats on your first Merc! I have found that I have better luck in the front yards versus the back yards of older homes. Also, search around any large trees there because people would usually sit on the ground in the shade from the trees. If you can locate where the clothesline was, there's usually coins there too.

Congrats on the Merc!!! May you find many more!!!

Congrats on your first Merc ! Put that coin in a 2x2 holder, and label it with details such as the date you found it - where you found it - the detector that you used - and put 1rst Merc dime on it also. I do this with all of my coins (except wheats) so I can remember the details of the find.
