Got out this morning with my son Carson and hunted an old 1860's farm ! We got permission last night and were at it first thing this morning . We didn't find anything special but we had one great time ! We are hoping to get back and try again soon ! Here is what we found

Relic hunting is fun. Sure it doesn't produce the silver and gold like schools and parks, but the surprise factor is there and you can get a surprise beyond expectation. Especially in your neck of the woods. I would be very happy with those hunt results. Hope you beat the rain.

WHAT? No rings? I love the old square nails. I was told they were hand forged? Not sure if that's true of all square nails but if true all square nails are very cool. I even read that when folks moved back in the day they would burn down their house and sift through the ash to recover the square nails. That's how valuable they were to them.

Looks you found a Ton!! Tony

Metal detecting really is an awesome hobby for parents and kids. Great to see you guys smiling

Enjoy your next hunt together, and it better not be 17 years from now!!! [emoji39]

1867-1911 is the date range on your UMC Magestic headstamp, and that is a pistol bullet. Good finds, nice to see you got to hunt with your son, I'm working on mine to do it with me some more. Tough age 20, I think I'm getting to him though. Plus he won't feel like he has a bad machine in his hand, before I was using the AT Pro and he was stuck with the Ace 250, there really was a big difference, so I couldn't blame him.
