So today was my first time metal detecting I was using the tecknetics delta standard coil and I found great stuff nothing but solid coins and some nails haha. The site I was at was a pig lot/ general store from early 1920s to about the 70s so of course I was out for coins and nice relics my results were amazing for my first time

12 regular nickels from years 40-64

I see it now. Apparently he nor anyone else has noticed either.
 

Good job! I'm always happy to find nickels. Lower conductivity and many times other detectorists leave them as trash. Teknetics and Fishers do good on finding nickels. ;-)
 

That is almost an unheard of first hunt. The Delta is a good machine, and you found an area we all dream about finding. Great job and kudo's.

The 4 1946 nickels are not silver, but the 1944 and 1945 are.
 

When I saw your post I smiled. It is funny all of us had the same experience. We bought a detector, we searched, we found and now were all hooked!! How funny is that? The funny thing is that we can't seem to get enough. You always want more! Very nice find. Congrats to you!!:thumbsup:
