Hello all

This is my first post me an dmy friend each just bought Prizm V I have never been detecting before but have always wanted to. I got my Prizm on Thursday and finally went out in my back yard Saturday inbetween periods of the hockey game. My yard is fairly large and then behind it is a small field that leads down to a park, I started in my yard and was getting use to using my detector about 30 minutes into it I was near a large tree in my yard I hit on something and started to dig after about 2-3 inches a silver ring popped out. The pictures didn't come out so great but I put a couple up hoping someone may know something about it, it has PRELUDE Industrial sterling engraved on the inside after searching Prelude which looks like they have mostly silverware I came across a pattern they made that matches I put that picture last to give you an idea of the pattern thats on both ends of it. I can't wait to start going out more and look forward to many good finds. Thanks guys

Well at least no one called you FDS except me! Welcome to the forum and that's a nice ring. Monty

Welcome! As Mighty AP mentioned, your find seems to be a "spoon ring." Originally, they were handmade from the handles of actual spoons, but in recent years they've been manufactured as rings. Here's a page with a few of the manufactured type, which are often identifiable because the smaller end duplicates the design of the larger one— something usually not seen on the handmade type:
