Went out late afternoon today for a few hours and I was able to cross another coin off my wish list. The nickel is pretty well worn, but it was such a rush. The ointment cap (I think that's what it is) and tiny button were like icing on the cake. I'm not sure what the brass/or copper ring is, but I've dug a pile of them now. Thanks for looking and good luck out there.

nice v-nick... congrats

My first and only V-nickel find was a 1905 as well, and it was in just about the same shape. Beats a dateless buffalo!
