My first V Nickel

Ccarson · Jul 10, 2015

So yesterday I decided to try a spot that I had stopped at once befor but the ground is as hard as a rock. Well this time I took my rock pick and digging tool. And managed to find my very first V Nickel. All I could make out was 190? I've got he's soaking in olive oil and will try to clean her up with a toothpick.

thanks for lookin

Thanks everyone. I was really sieked. It's my second oldest coin. When it came out of the ground all I could see was the 190. It wasn't until I spit on it and brushed it off that I could see the full date. I love this hobby but it's so hard finding good locations. All the old parks are pounded.

V nickels are always a nice suprise. Especially with a date!!! Nice save!

Old Dude · Jul 11, 2015

Nice job finding the V. Hard to get a good readable date on them sometimes.

cjon455 · Jul 11, 2015

any v with a date is a good one, they don't pop up all that often!
