my fist silver coin = my second ring

Got a suprise on my second ring I'v ever found got it home and found writing inside, turned out to be my first silver coin as well only in ring form. someone had hammered it into a ring.fortunatly my wife speaks and reads German. its a 1902 preussen German 2$ mark. Hope next time I find a silver coin it's in coin form.lol thanks for lookin.
found a pic of the coin on line thought i'd add it.

That coin would only have been 12 years old when WWI broke out , and the coin may well have
been turned into a ring by a German infantryman - so called trench art . Nice find ! Argentium.

yeah I thought the very same thing, I was pretty excited when I realized what it was, only wish it could talk and tell it's story.
 

That is a great find! Those coin rings are very hard to find. Way to go!

Thought that as well but can't discount allies doing it as well :wink:
