No doubt I am getting better at working the discrimination features of this machine out but where I hunt, a volcanic beach on the shores of lake taupo n/z I seem to do ok up from the lake, but in areas where the black sand starts showing through i get heaps of hits and falsing..sometimes lifting the coil and dropping the sensitivity down certainly helps but audio targets leap from the lowest to the highest notch and become so confusing I change from coin mode to zero as one coin i found a n/z 50 cent shows in the iron notch that wouldnt be there in coin only mode,,also as one scrolls over an audio target the notching can jump from quite different target id,s .. mmm.. quite confusing...any thoughts i sure would appreciate..have i bought a banana !!.cheers guys des from down under..ps the garrett is brand new, purchased 6 months ago from the states and garrett informed me that it has the new chip in it !
