My GTAx 1000 is taking a vacation to the east coast beaches

Okay all you pros out there. Here's one for ya. Has anyone with a GTAx 1000 ever detected the beaches ? I spoke with Garrett directly and they said it would work fine as long as I'm in "BEACH" mode. Just wondering if I can even work the wet sand with it or am I stuck in the dry ?
