My hike to a foundation site today

Today I took apart my DFX and packed my equipment (17 pounds worth) into a back pack and hiked a couple miles to a foundation site. The trip included a long steep uphill climb. This site doesn't show on any of my maps and did show signs of having been hunted in the past.

I only found one coin, a no date nickel. There were some interesting relic finds. If nothing else this hunt was good training for the big Ohio hunt next weekend.

Very cool. Looks like some good finds. Nice old buckle... what is the badge thing?

I'm looking forward to next week. I don't think it will be like your hunt today. I bet most of the silver will be fairly shallow and sound off loud and clear.

PS - I will be there Friday & Sat. Nate will most likely be there Saturday(If the coach puts him on Varsity Track he will probably run and then just come Sunday - more likely he will just come to the hunt. )
