Dang man them are some nice finds . Did you find them all at one spot?

Jack,
Yes they all came from 1 homestead site.
I found this old homestead by talking to the old guys in my neck of the woods. A neighbor down the street said his house use to be up in the mountains and 90+ years ago someone moved it with horses and logs. He took me to the spot he thought it was and sure enough there were some old pieces of brick from the chimney. I went back that same day and the 1st thing I dug was a Union eagle button. I went back almost every day for 3 months with my v3i until I ran out of targets. Then I got the ctx 3030 and found another 40 buttons , another coin, and another box plate ( 2 foot deep ). It's completely grown over right now so I'm doing some water detecting until it cools off and and the vegetation dies off.
My neighbor built additions around the old square log building , but it's still intact. I'll see if I can get some pics and post them later.

I always tell people you better talk to every older person you know before they are gone and the info you could get is gone to. I get probably 80% of my info from 80 year old people they know so much and most people do not put info together like a treasure hunter does.

How do you like that v3i ? Do you like the 3030 better . I'm still old school I guess I hunt with a dfx and xlt . But I thought about trading both for the v3i but I need to read more reviews on machines before I make a purchase.

Jack,
I can't say anything bad about the v3i , it's what I learned on. If I was going coin hunting the v3i would be my choice every time. The vdi readings are so easy to define.
The ctx 3030 found me 50+ more items at my homestead site (that I dig everything at) after the V3i ran out of targets.
I see a lot of people who prefer the etrac over the v3i and seen some youtube videos that make it look close to the ctx.
hope this helps

Awesome collection, that musket is killer!

Wow! That IS a honeyhole JDug. Great finds! Looks like some of those buttons are tombacs ? You know you are onto a colonial site when those start popping out of the ground. I've never seen that many flat buttons come from a single site. That is awesome. Congrats.

Thanks, I found it under a stump on a path between a flat stone where the front door was and the root cellar. You know I checked every stump in a 200 yard radious after that....:laughing7:

Do you have any info on that musket? Pretty sweet find for sure. Caliber or make or anything?

The makers mark indicates it was Belgium made.
