Is that the only field that you looked in? We have frozen ground and snow also in Huron Co. Ohio. I have found a number of places that are not on any maps, dating back to 1849. Good Luck when the weather straitens out.

no I have a few old sites I hunt this is just one that is giving a lot of old coins. Yea the weather is bad here I can't wait for spring but I have been out up till about a week ago. I'm in wyandot county by the way not too far from you.
