This is a total of my keeper coins I have found since I started md'ing back in March of this year. I am still very new to this hobby, so I am hoping I will be able to update these totals frequently...:

15 x IH's...: 1862, 63, 64, 81, 83, 88, 89, 2 x 92, 94, 95, 1902, 04, 07, 08

11 x Nickels (4 are silver)...: 1870 Shield, 1906 "V", 5 Buffalo (1925, 33, 36, 2 x no date), 4 Silver War Nickels (3 x 1943 P, 1945 P)

28 x Silver Dimes...: 1825 Capped Bust, 15 Mercs ( 1916, 34, 2 x 38, 40, 3 x 41, 4 x 42, 2 x 43, 44), 12 Rosies (3 x 1946, 47, 48, 51, 52, 2 x 57, 59, 60, 62)

9 x Silver Quarters...: 3 x Standing Liberty (no dates), 5 x Washingtons (2 x 1942, 45, 51, 57), 1958 Canadian Quarter "Young Elizabeth" (silver)

1 x Silver Half Dollar..: 1897 Barber

1 x Half Cent...: 1800 Draped Bust

1 x Large Cent...: 1798 Draped Bust

1 x Large Copper...: King George II Half Penny 17??

1 x Spanish Silver...: 1799 1/2 Reale FM

Some don't consider wheaties to be clad. I have found alot of wheaties. Almost every year wheatie except...: 1909, a few years in the 1930's, and no steel pennies yet. Lots of doubles, especially the WW2 year wheaties.

Thank you.... All sorts of places. Old farms/homesteads, parks, churches (old & new), open fields, private homes, etc...

I found the 1798 LC just off the paved driveway of a church built in 1961. Also found a good amount of musketballs in the same church yard. Guess alot was going on in that field a few centuries before the church was built. Never know where you will find stuff....

One of these days I'll throw them down on the table into a semi-organized pile and take a pic. If you are actually interested in seeing them, send me a pm and I'll shoot you a link to the site I regularly post. 99% of the coins are pictured in different threads.

ALL of my finds jumped up a notch when I started to hunt churches. People around my way are not very kind to md'ers. I live in an area where EVERYTHING is old. My township was already incorporated and had a HUGE iron furnace with workers by 1750. This was , and still is , a popular spot for swingers. Tons of old homes and farms. Most of the towns around me are still called "the village of"... An old timer found an Elephant Token worth $15,000 in an open cow pasture 2 miles down the road from me, haha!!

Anyway...I am polite and courteous and ask permission for EVERY privately owned property I hunt. 5 places allow me to come and go as I please. Very old farm homes that have turned out a bunch of great stuff. The PROBLEM is other md'ers aren't as polite and courteous as I. Because sooooo many md'ers have been caught snooping around on these properties when no one was around, I have a hard time getting a YES. Most are nice and simply say no because of past people sneaking onto their property. A few of these farmers HAVE pulled a gun and told me to go screw before they shoot.

As the finds were starting to wear thin due to me pounding the **** outta' the few private spots I had, I decided to give churches a try. I found out that churches are VERY easy to get permission and in some ways BETTER than private homes. If you live in an area like me, lots of farmers, they didn't always wear jewelry or carry coins to drop around their homes. Very frugal people, especially in the past. YET, they dressed their best, the women put on the jewelry, and COINS were brought to drop in the basket. The churches around me date back to the 1700's (Earliest still standing being 1753).

I get to hunt as I please and no one points a gun at me. VERY beautiful scenery and DEAD quiet at these places, as most are way out in the middle of the countryside. They were places of gathering for many different occasions. Give them a shot....
