I was getting pretty warm and i decided that the last garage sale of the day for me would be this electriction's warehouse. He was going out of business. The place was a dirty mess. But i spent over one hour there. I tried to go down every row of shelves and open every big box. I kept loading up my hands with heavy copper wire, copper fittings, brass valves, copper bars. it was a pickers paradise. when it came time to pay I asked the guy if he would take $20-25 and he said sure so I paid $25 and loaded my car.
Normally when I get this kind of scrap I take it home and carry it up stairs where I store it on my patio. But I got too much this time and went to the scrapper at lunch today. I only sold the stuff I did not have to tear down (about 85%) total weight on my ticket 86.4 lbs. So I did real good.
I was hot and tired but looked on my route list and 8 miles south was a trailer park clubhouse sale I go to every year. So I talked myself into one more sale. I get in and start going down the isles and some lady comes up from behind me and asks if I buy silver coins. Now I had not said a word to anybody yet. She had remembered me from last year and even told me what I bought from her friend. So I went back to her table and she pulled out a small tupperware container FILLED with coins and jewelry she had brought just for me to buy. total face value of just the silver coins was close to $25 and most was dollars and halves. then she pulled out her jewelry. heavy 925 mens bracelet and dainty silver necklace, several small 925 things and three items that were gold colored. Only one was marked 10K, later when I tested another turned out to be 12K.
I made her an offer for everything after pounding on my calculator for a few minutes and she was thrilled, I knew I should have offered less, but I got a bargain.
