my latest dig finds from my specail place!

well it has been a while since my last post, been really busy and the heat and ticks make for some far and few in between digs. these are from about 5-6 digs in the last few months from the same area I have been hauling em out of for the last year and a half. the hafted scrapper is one of my favorites.

Hey Treefrog. You sure are finding a lot of good stuff.I see you found a nutting stone.The hafted scraper do you think it has been reworked from a broken point ? Do you live in Cookeville TN? If you do I may be able to turn you on to some places.

capsmith, now looking at this scrapper again, it is thin, if it were a point as long as it would have been, it would have been 1 thin based point or else it may have been made this way. it really does not have a sharp bevel on the tip either. it is finely flaked all the way around on both sides. it may be a nice thin round nosed knife. that little sucker on a 6 inch handle could do some cutting. You hunt around Cookeville? I have ran into a lot of hunters around here field hunting. I don't hunt fields very often, hard to find the time anymore. I do good to squeeze 3-4 hrs in a couple weeks to dig a little.
