Found this in waste deep water near a public access in Manistee. Turned it into the State Police. They said I could call in March to see what the story (if any) is behind it. It still had 2 rounds in the cylinder that I could see. Octogon barrel and looked to be stainless at one time.

Wow, interesting find. Give us an update please if you find out any more about it. :icon_thumleft:

Now that is cool! Always wanted to find a real gun!

Definately not your every day find. Because of its location, I'm guessing that it was used with criminal intent. Were you able to make out a serial number or was it to far gone. Should be interesting what the police have to say if anything. Will they let you keep it once their investigation is complete?

The trooper said that they will acid wash it, pin fire it to see if was used in a crime and check to see if it had been reported stolen or missing. After that it goes to the melting pot. I was just going to keep it until I was informed that being in possession of a firearm that was reported stolen or used in a crime comes with a "Go Directly to Jail" card.

Very cool find!! :icon_thumleft: Probably a reason it was tossed in the water.

Maybe some Gangster forgot it was in his shorts when he went swimming? :dontknow:

Fantastic find  I've never found a complete gun but it would really be hard to give up if I did.

I have never found a "real" gun either, very interesting find. Keep us updated on the story.
