Detector(s) used
White's V3I , Minelab CTX 3030 , Cibola, Deus, ATPro, GPX 5000. 4800, 4500, & 3500.
Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
I took my new Tesoro out on its maiden voyage today. I went to the trashy area I've been working recently with my ctx 3030. I just did a quick easter egg hunt because of the cold and frozen ground. How ironic is this? I dig up a inaugural pin from Woodrow Wilson's inauguration in 1913 the day after the 2013 inauguration.

I recently went on a relic hunt my wife had bought me for Xmas in SC. We were on plantation and freeman sites with lots of trash. My guide was getting signals on targets my CTX and GPX wouldn't pick up with the Tesoro Cibola. I ended up using it for a day and did very well. I began to wonder how it would do in my trashy sites. So I went and bought one yesterday and confirmed my suspicions today.
I love it when a plan comes together.

You did good! The Cibola is a great relic detector...and deep too.

Thanks, It seems to average about 8 inches on buttons & miniballs. I still dug some big iron targets but not a single square nail.

That's not only a bit ironic, it's a really neat find! I like it! :icon_thumright:

Awesome save! How was it hacking through the dirt?

The freeze was 2 to 3 inches thick on the flats but still good digging on the hills.

Jdug,

Your find bears a striking resemblance to one I pulled out of a lake. Mine was made by Schwaab & Sons. Mine has the date 1912 and Dewey's flagship is the center insert piece. I believe they were "fund raiser" pieces. Mine hangs from a ladies pin.

That's cool. Here's what mine originally looked like.

....one other thing I forgot to mention,... on the back of the center piece on mine is the "Lords Prayer" in micro script so small you need magnification to read it. I found it amazing they could print something that small back then.

This one would of had the same if it was complete.

Nice digs DUG!! I'm surprised about that Cibola over the 3030. You could buy a fleet of those for the price of a 3030.lol Goes to show that the bigger price does not always mean a better machine. CONGRATS.. HH

Thanks. I would of never thought it possible if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. I still love my CTX and will use it most of the time. The Tesoro is now my go to machine for areas infested with square nails.

Congrats on the pin.
