Just talked to a Minelab Rep.

I remeber you questioned the setting for Sensitivity,
so I asked about Auto Vs Manual.

According to him the Sovereign has the Only "TRUE" Auto
Sensitivity.
He said while in auto if you Expierence a Null
& then a sort of POP in sound that is the Detector
resetting the Sensitivity because of a Soil Change.

He also said a Mono Coil is the Deepest Coil Because
of the Funnel Shape, But, You have to Overlap the coil
8 times compared to one swing of the DD to cover the same amount
of Ground.

Good stuff, thanks Jeff.

It's nealy winter now and really cold up here. And too I'm super busy again so no time for hunting. I sold my Sovereign GT and plan on getting either the SE or PD in the spring. I'm not so sure about that PD so I'll most likely wait a bit and read the feedback.

If I don't like the SE I can always drop back to a GT again. That GT is a winner all the way. In fact, some claim it's a much better machine than the Ex.II or SE. We'll see.

You Sold It ? :D

Isn't that called "FICKLE" ? ;D

Nah..dumb maybe but not fickle.

I'm just a salesman at heart I guess. Had a chance to make $150 more than I paid for it and couldn't pass it up ;D

I can replace it easily anyway. But, I'm eager to learn the SE.

Before buying the GT I heard little good about it in this area. I mostly bought it to see for myself. I found out it's a great machine.

Now I'm hearing some negative stuff about the SE so got to see for myself. My guess is it will also be great. And too I've heard it's about 4 inches deeper than the GT on quarter sized targets. Do quarters run 34 inches deep? ;D

Definately. Probably Twice that deep Also.

But your goung to need to dig a trench first
and crawl into it to Swing your detector & get a Signal.

Did you see the Travel Channel show on Relic Hunting ?
They dug holes & swung their detectors in the Bottom.
I bet they found Relics 20" deep & Deeper doing that.
