Detector(s) used
Minelab CTX 3030, Minelab E-Trac w/Sunray probe and 15' WoTcoil.
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Let me start by saying, if the two guys who were metal detecting in East Bridgewater today read this, if I ever catch you leaving holes like this again, I'm going to wrap my detector around your throats! >:( I took a photo of the hole one of them left. As you can see, they left the trash on the top as well. As I walked the field the place was full of this type of crap. I'd go over there holes and pull their trash out. Lucky for me, I re-scanned one after taking out some foil and managed copper #26 for the year (pictured below). Not sure what it is. Afterwards I went out with a buddy looking for some Native American artifacts but we came up short and decided to go home. Passed a field that had a small section freshly plowed. After a few minutes I decided it was getting late and swung my way back to the car when I found the Reale. It was on the surface!!!! The rest of the stuff is from the past week of detecting.

If anyone can date that Quartermaster insignia I would appreciate it. I had someone look at it and he believes it's pre-ww1.

The problem is, it took me over a year to get permission to the spot these two dingbats are tearing up. The police, selectman and the historical society know who I am and that I detect it. I don't want them to think it's me.

Ya got that right , respect public & private property . Wouldn't that be something if the bone heads dropped the silver and could not re locate it :laughing7: Nice digs and continued success

That's a nice early one. My fav. date for a pistareen.

Love the Cross token.
That item that looks like a marble, I've dug 2 hollow copper spheres coated with red clay that look just like that, is this what you have?

Love the collection of buckles you found! :icon_thumright:

Kudus to you for reminding people to "FILL IN YOUR HOLES!!"

You spent 2 minutes digging it, so why not spend 10 seconds to "FILL IT IN!!"

Congrats on your 1717 2 REALE find as well! :notworthy:

Nice relics and congrats! Too bad about the knuckleheads making the mess and worse they don't even realize they are endangering the hobby. HH, Mike

why are there boneheads in everything we do :icon_scratch: cool digs! :icon_thumright:

I know what you mean about the holes. theres a bunch of people who have been using the cheap bounty hunters around here and digging trenches. i actually talked with one guy yesterday at the beach who was asking me how i retrieve targets in the grass. so i started explaining the proper retreival way and then we went our ways.

Worst thing though was as i turned my detector on again it wouldn't turn on, i think its a wire connecting to my coil because when i unplug the coil and turn it on it works but then it turns off as i plug the coil in again. any ideas.
