Hit a site yesterday way out in middle of bean field.Dug my oldest coin,an 1837 Large Copper and a very cool 1867 Indian with a star carved in both sides...Is this counter stamped?

I wouldn't call the star a counterstamp. More than likely someone with some spare time on their hands.

I was wondering David. Its pretty straight for free hand.Who ever did this had a steady hand

That 'star' coin had me going for a while; thought it was a valuable 1867 Silver 3-cent piece.......before I counted the star points.
Don......

Same here...

Sweet finds. Go hit that spot some more see what else is there maybe some flat buttons on that site them are always cool to find.. Keep at it thanks for sharing
