Hello my friends...

10/10/2010 Sunday I went with a friend in the neighboring county to about 55 km from me in a location where we've found a few days before the traces of ancient battles fought in medieval times but also high cliffs around lies a pasture where we've found arrows and spears, but also ancient and medieval brooches, pieces of armor of all time...Has appeared a signal on the screen nonferrous metal currency possible gold in Garrett 2500 GTI and depth of 6 inches but I have no hope of digging thought something...I thought it happens every time to find a beer bottle cap and when I saw the side of a glittering ring ... I could not believe I found a gold ring with carnelian seal Roman intaglio engraving that was a scene in depth the battle between mythological characters Hercules and Anteu...

:wav:

It was in perfect condition as if someone placed it there in the ground a few minutes in front of me... :icon_king:
In Romania never found something like that and I still do not believe it 3 days after the discovery... :occasion15:
Before I give the ring specialists took photos that we show with you... :hello2: :hello:

:blob3: :occasion14:

Best find I've ever seen on treasurenet. That's the stuff that treasure hunting dreams are made of.

Congrats on your BANNER find!!!

Jim

That is absolutely stunning! If I were a rich man I'd offer to buy it right now. Incredible! The banner was obvious. Heck, clearing the banner for just pics of your ring for a bit would be justified. No offense to the other great finds, but that ring is so beautiful it deserves something special.

Can the scene depicted tell us who the ring belonged to? Were they unique the wearer, and was there any historical record kept?

Amazing!

yo6oej,

It doesn't get much better than this. Shock. Awe. I would be on cloud 9 for...hmmmm...the REST OF MY LIFE !!! :headbang:

Here's to you and a giant congratulations on one of the sweetest targets I've ever seen.

Beep

Who you trying to dupe with that clear fake????

Just pulling everyones chain.... That is probably THE coolest thing I have ever seen in treasure hunting in the dirt..... What you gonna do with it??

Fantastic find. Congrats to you. It gives me hope that me and my Garrett GTI2500 will find something big some day soon! :notworthy:

Wow :o

I agree with everyone else, one of, if not THE best find i've seen on here :icon_thumleft:

Wow...what a piece of history. Who cares the about the value...if I found that my children would have to sell it after I died and they pryed it out of my cold dead hand...lol. That is truly amazing...Congrats on the find. The banner was obvious.

I can't wait to see what else comes out of the area. Can you post some of the other items?

NJ

I don't...but the subject of price came up between other people and I was stating that it is a magnificient find worth alot monetarily when compared to a similar ring on another website. I agree, that's a find that I would never sell, but then again, I'm a treasure hunter who rarily sells any of his finds, thus I have a house full of relics piled up everywhere :laughing9:

YES!

Why we metal detect. BIG Congrats! :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:

Any idea what you will do? Sell, keep?

Of course, keep going STRONG at that site ... might be more (<smile> but do you really need more?)

Sentinel,
It is nice to know the value of our finds even if we don't plan on selling...I just know if that turned up under my coil it would take alot for me to part with it. It would have to be a major family emergency.

By the way, I'm going to be hunting in your neck of the woods at the beginning of November (N.NC on the OBX) Looking for more of that Spanish Silver... :D

Let me be the first to say this should be a Banner find, its amazing. Cru'dad found a Bronze version but gold :o :o :o

Do not ever think to find something important and it is very hard for me to believe that this has happened especially as the Crusader says it right ... Thanks very much Cru

No, finds of this Quality are out of the blue & really reminds us why we do this strange hobby :hello2:

That would be a £1000 (easy) Ring in the UK, its easy worthy of publishing in any book on Roman Antiquities :read2:

:laughing7: you'll right

I don't have much to add on this topic, except to say CONGRATS!!!!! I agree with the others who said that is the coolest item ever seen on TNET. I found a 25 gram gold ring, and I still can't get over the weight of it. 28 is huge!!!! I can't tell in the pictures, but does it fit your finger? Must have a big important guy wearing that ring 2000 years ago. WOW!!!!!!
Regards,
Jon Dickinson.

You must have thought it was a gigantic beer can!

This is unreal! Way to go! Some of the finds on here are just amazing this year! Once in a lifetime.

That is an inspiration for me to move to another country!! Beautiful find. Do you get to keep your finds in your country? Thank you for sharing!
