My Prize Bottle! Whats It Worth???

Found this beautiful bottle in the marsh. It's worn but I would like to know what it's worth.








It has a very worn anchor on the bottom.

"Anchor, or Anchor & chain (embossed design) on mouth-blown flasks……………….The pictorial representation of an anchor appears on many liquor flasks spanning (approximately) the 1830-1910 period, and many of these seem to be found in the general Baltimore, Maryland area. It is certain they were made by more than one glassmaker. Baltimore Glass Works certainly made some of them, and no doubt other glass companies in the Baltimore area also made them. The anchor can be placed either on the base, or on the front of the bottle. A variety of these would make an interesting collection in and of themselves." Thanks it's so worn on the front and back that it has absolutely NO design on it. All I can see is an anchor on the base. But thanks for the feedback!

Please show & tell what you mean by this "wear." It had no design on the front or back, but did probably have a paper label. I see some devitrification from having been in the ground.

I have a theory that the "wave" pattern, often found on dug bottles is the result of the water table's action on the glass over a period of many, many years...

the bottle isn't worn, it is sick. sick means the glass is decomposing or oxidizing (I can never remember which one it is). that's what the hazyness is from most likely. as previously stated, there never was a design on it. it is a very common style of bottle, and although very attractive, $5-10 is a good value estimate. possibly a little high, but id pay 5 bucks for one at a flea market or bottle show.

Thanks for all the replies! I asked my friend about it (a professional) and he said that it had a paper label and if it had the sc dispensary label on the front I was looking at a $300 bottle if not $5-10. It was found in South Carolina. It was not dug I found this in the marsh grass on an island. I used to go island jumping and looking for old bottles. I found an early 1900s bottle dump (loaded with bottles) and had a field day out there until I stepped on a broken one and got it stuck in my foot. But thanks again everyone!!! I appreciate it!
