Hi everybody. :hello:
I have'nt been on this site for quite some time and am happy to have something good to share.
It's been about 2 yrs since I've got to visit the location...
Look what I found at the 1900's homesite this time !
Anybody, everybody... please tell me what you know about this gun or the lipstick case.
I see this lipstick is a Maxfactor product, and whats funny is I couldn't make out the letters until viewing the pictures ! Thanks in advance. Also, I would be totally exstatic if someone can provide a pic of the gun when it was nice. :icon_thumleft: Old gun 235.webp

My Uncle says its a S&W lemon squeeze No trigger guard. Rimfire 32 caliber was popular around 1900's.
Too many pics and I see only a couple close but not the same.Old gun 247.webp

Yeah I know. I've had this addiction for years but usually too busy to get on pc for leisure. :(

Congrats on finding a real gun. All of the guns that I have recovered have been toys.

That is an antique "bird's head" revolver. As for the manufacturer, you will have to clean it a bit to get a better view of the construction. Congrats on a legit antique gun find! Sub 8-)

No help here but congrats on your finds

Congrats on your finds. I have only found Cap Guns, so I can only imagine the thrill of finding a real one. I was also going to suggest .32 Caliber according to the pics, but I cannot offer a suggestion on manufacturer.

Defender.webp I dug this one a few years ago .There is a thread somewhere in the back pages on this forum,

IMHO I believe it is a Harrington and Richardson Defender .

Birds beak handle , spur trigger , cool find .

Good Day ,

dawg

CMDiamonddawg,
WOW ! That DOES look like it, from whats left of my find. Very nice !
Thank you everyone for your replies. I've had very little time to clean or photograph for posts, but am looking forward to posting an update or two.
I sat down on a rocky beach area when I saw this rusted thing sticking up... am already shocked it didnt crumble in my hands ! I was happy it stayed together long enough for me to get a look at it. LOL

Good going on the gun. Super hard to find a real one. Besides loads of cap guns anything to do with real guns i find is mostly only pieces like musket parts, etc. My only true full real gun find was my mid 1800’s single shot picket pistol...

Outdoorfunblonde ,

Hi ... old pistols that turn up every now and then while dirt fishing are exciting digs . Glad to help .

Trying to remember , not positively sure , Smith and Wesson did manufacture a similar style of an H & R 32 cal and a 22 cal. circa 1890 - 1921

KiDDO79 has another pea shooter .... these were easily concealed in boots and even the ladies had these little pistols hidden in various places of her dress .

see ya and have fun !
