Finally I had a good day of metal detecting in the mountains! Lots of research time and long days hiking around with my new AT Pro and I found a spot that produced!
I was hunting for around 5 hours today, got many coins that were a first for me. Also got 2 big bullets, they look old but I'm not sure. The square deal is a token that says "Good for 10 cents on purchase price of Colgates or Palmolive shave cream" I didn't realize the barber was a pretty rare mintage until I googled it, only 800,000 that year with the S. I'm going to get it cleaned and graded. Should I just go to a coin shop for that?
Oh and I love my new AT Pro! I had a Coinmaster pro for almost 2 years and I just upgraded. The 5x8 coil is awesome in the trash, and being able to ground balance for the mineralized soil is so nice. The numerical id numbers help a ton, being able to pick out nickels amongst the pull tabs is pretty easy, but the ones without the tails ring up dang close to a nickel.
Can't wait to get back out there!
This is also my first post and I hope I posted it right
Finds for today were
1904-S barber dime
1920 merc (my first one)
1918 buffalo nickel (also my first)
1943-S silver nickel (another first!)
1945-S silver nickel
4 wheats, oldest 1917-D
Clad - 15 coppers lincs, 2 quarters, 1 dime
