my smallest pestle

at 3.5 inches, this is the smallest pestle I've found. I've found 2 other "normal" size pestles in the same field. this one has no dimple and not seen much, if any use. initially when I found it I thought it was broken. but the bases does not support it as broken unless it was broken and salvaged.

I would "assume" that almost any stone "could" be used as a Pestle but I also think your find is a potential nice find ! BUT what do I know!

They normally would use a hard, close grained stone to keep sand particles out of their food.
