I am new here and I wanted to get your oppionion on some of my finds? I am showing the points I have found there, a root beer colored Dalton that has a spokeshave made into it.. a couple of small points or knifes? and they look to be scottsbluff or cody complex types? the other med point I am still researching..I have found hundreds of small tools scrapers, choppers, and other debitage.. I have found beads and pendants of all types I will be posting as time goes.. it is also where I have just found a small clovis type tool scrapper or chopper? The Petrified bone stag knapping tool notice the wear on the tip? and it was used by a left handed man? I have since stopped digging there I am trying to learn better techniques and info recording.. I know I have found a special place and I want to do it right.. thanks for your thoughts..

Thank You pickaway....I think it is too, But the problem is the things I am finding are so new to people they refuse to believe what they are seeing.. I have some really nice and unusual pieces, That I know are artifacts by the context they are found and in the numbers I am finding..I have not been finding the points and type work people are used to seeing..Things are going to get alot stranger as I keep posting.. But every piece I am displaying came from them 2 sites.... I know they have to be related the material and styles are to much the same..It really has been real frustrating for people to not take a serious look at these...I have been so beat up over my finds from there... But I do Thank you for recognizing them for what they might be... Thanks ...... Mike

Nice finds Texas! I've got a site that yields a lot of tools and points. It's pretty cool how over time, you start learning a lot about the site and it's inhabitants. You feel kind of a connection to the ancients who lived there by picking up the blades, points, and tools that they used.

Keep those pics coming!

Thank you, You all....As I have worked this site I am learning there pattern, and I am figuring out more about these People everyday..I have found small individual places where different actions took place, I have found where they might have worked most of there stone.. I have seen where they may have had there central hearth, burnt bone and burnt stone.. I am seeing where some kids might have played at one time, I have found possible game balls and marbles..I think I know where they might have cleaned there game, by the Teeth and few bones..And yes I do feel a connection to those people..I am doing my best to document everything I am doing, it is not organized that will take me awhile as I am trying to learn on the run, and I haven't knocked a dent in this place yet.......And that link was great newnan man, your right I have never thought all of this was artifacts, I am just not sure enough to discard any of them...I have been through these pieces and there are many, many times just trying to compare the styles and marks...and what you see is the best I can do, I hope in the future I can find the right person to really take some of these things and study them..When I started in this hobby to find a piece was cool and a reason to look for the next one, but I have to admit I am a bit overwhelmed by this site...Thanks again... Mike

This is a couple more points I have found there, they look to have been reworked a time or two..The bottom black point was found next to what I believe is the possible central hearth.... Thanks... Mike

Morning,

That deer antler is polished and appears almost "fossilized" Very old indeed. The first grey point there is a Wells point. The next couple are defiantly paleo. Dalton variants or even a San Patrice if you look at it hard. Have several nice scrapers and cutting tools there. It would appear that you have a late paleo site and a good one.

Happy Hunting,

Atlantis

Thank you all...This is somemore of the pieces from that site, I think the first is a wore out paleo point... And the others I am not sure, could be some early stemmed type points? The stag horn above is fossilized it is as fragile as glass...And I to believe there are many unknown treasures left out there in our country and the world that have yet to be discovered... I am doing my best to find just one! I know I have found a real special place, there are alot of artifacts here and there are some that are not! And I know I can count on you all to help cull out the ones that are not...Thanks... Mike

This is somemore pieces I found at the site yesterday, I think the best piece is a lancelate point, the other big lanceolate point(preform?)I found on a earlier visit... They all seem to be from a very early paleo period through the Transitional paleo to me, and with a few of the pieces up through the Woodland period?...I also found a few more tools and I put a few close ups of my favorites from that site in here too..I know they are not much to look at but I think it is as good as it is going to get there? I will go check another place tommorrow, and give that site a rest I am kinda getting burnt out over there... Thanks... Mike
