Well I bragged to the family and friends that I was going out this morning and I wasn't coming home until I found a ring. I lied! I came home without a ring. I didn't find much at all this morning. It was perfect out there but I couldn't hunt for long so for the short time I did hunt I guess I did ok. At least I got out and it was pretty out. My total for this morning..... 1 quarter, 1 dime, 6 pennies, 1 bottle cap, 1 piece of something and several pull tabs. It's ok... I'll take it and who knows maybe tomorrow.................. ::)

That's what happens you get a good run of luck then it runs out !! Did you sacrifice your Dr Pepper to the Surf Gods and was it a Virgin !! (never sipped)

Looks and sounds like a great hunt in my book. Nice to see you posting again and giving me my MDing fix when I can't get to the beach. Due to the price of propane this year, I'm busy cutting/splitting a hugh oak that died this spring. Time to go back in time and heat with wood this winter. Keep up the hunts and posts! :blob10: :blob10: :blob10: :blob3: :blob3: :blob6: :blob6: :blob9: :blob9:

The finding of pull tabs is a good sign that other hunters haven't been there, at least not the ones that are real competition.

If I can get out, I am happy.

Gold prices are going back up.

Sandman - The pull tabs were far apart as was everything else. I did manage to find a whole beer can deep in the sand far out in the water. So the "hits" were there but the goodies were not. I also know of at least two other guys that hunt that area and they are both very good at doing it so it should not have been a surprise that I did not find much.

Halfspeed - You know.... it would be are real good idea to hunt around where that big oak was (if you haven't already done it). An old tree like that just might have been a magnet for kids to climb, people to picnic under, guys to work on there cars under etc etc etc...

Thorney196 - I had hot tea this morning and never even thought of offering it NO WONDER the surf gods didn't share with me I never shared with them! ::)

[size=13pt]Hi Mumszie,

It's nice to see others are getting the same as I usually do. I would have to say that about 90% of those detecting usually come home with this kind of haul. The ones that find the big bad gold and jewelry are usually out there from 5-9 hours detecting. That's way to long for me. I'd rather come home with a haul like yours knowing I enjoyed the thrill of the hunt and still have enough energy to do something else besides complain how sore my arm was and that I had to take a nap.

To me it's the thrill of the hunt and the anticipation of what I MAY get, not what I DID get. If I got something like a piece of gold or a ring, then that's a bonus and that made it an exceptionally good day.

Once again. Nice Finds !!! :sunny:

Happy Hunting !!!

Uhhhh Mumszie, I think it's time for a road trip. You keep at it girl. Wanna come hunt with me

ARE YOU KIDDING? Hawaii? YES!
I scan family photos for people and the last job I did (in fact just finished it yesterday) had a lot of pictures of when they were in Hawaii. The husband was stationed there I think. Lots of underwater pictures and the scenery.... ahhhh how absolutely beautiful! The hunting must be great too - all those tourists! But then I've also heard the stories about the sharks over there. **sigh** still would I like a road trip? YOU BET! ::)

They will come you always are out there and doing your best, if anyone deserves a gold ring it you.. Sending some luck your way.......

Well your more than welcome to come, but ya better do it before I move back there to FLA.

sometimes the goodies just aren't there, but still a good day especially when the weather is nice.

Well Mumzie,it's still fun to hunt.I went yesterday also.It was beautiful down here.Somewhat
clear water, and perfect temperature.Found a hole that opened some, and dug a lot of
blackened coins-quarters,nickels ,dimes, and a lot of zinc pennies.I knew there had to be a ring
in there somewhere, and I did find a Titanium ring, but no gold.I dug one set of deep keys,
in about chest deep water, and after I put them in my apron,I noticed a very large swirl/wake
about 3-4 feet away.Guess I had a toothy friend pass by to see what I was doing.I slowly
and quietly moved in shallower.A lot of bait and mullet around,so I was a little more
cautious from then on.Had a couple of swimmers going down the beach a ways, right
through the bait. Shows that our toothy friends aren't too interested in anything but fish.
Enjoy the hunting, and maybe some finding.HH Joe
