My very first find

I'm just now getting into metal detecting and this morning I went detecting in my back yard and found this. I know it's not that cool but I'm still happy with it

That is a cool find, I never detected a large dollar coin yet. It must not have been in the ground real long or it would be stained bad.

I would love to find an Ike. Only dollar coins I have found are Sacs and Presidentials...which is great too, but, I'd like to find a real big coin some day. Nice find!

Your Ike dollar is Totally Cool! Almost nobody finds something that super so soon! And it may actually have been underground a long time, as in some soils the silver items don't stain badly at all. Have fun & keep us posted with your next finds! Andi

That's an amazing find Chase!
Sometimes you find the best stuff in the area where you live.
Once you get your 'digging technique' down, ask your neighbors if you can detect their yards as well!

first silver and a half, actually that's pretty cool, i think it's 40 percent silver so nice job!!

I am somewhat new to the hobby (5 months) and I have not found anything like that. Awesome coin there. I would post it too!
