Went to an 1900 home that hasn't given up a good target in a while though it has given up a lot of silver in the past. Changed settings on my ET, went to a small coil and used TTF. Pulled 2 Wheats from 40's and this vintage BSA ring. Property owner said no idea who could have owned it. Family has been on property from early 1800's yet hasn't given up the first IH at all. Have taken at least 10 folks to hunt there.
Later in week invited to join a friend at a old home site w General store from early 1900's and still standing. Next door is a 70's home that the owners mother lived in and passed away last year. She had lost a ring they were hoping we would take some time and look for it. In true lost ring fashion the ring was no where near where they thought it was. She was a avid gardener and that's where I found it up against the border wall. Returned to son in law who was mowing across street. 10k with 2 Sapphires. Also picked up a 1.00 trade token issued by the store HD Crayton and a 36 Buffalo. Ring has been hunted for and property has been hunted numerous times so felt lucky to get anything. Thanks for looking JR

Awesome find and great story!

Great story. I like that Boy Scout Ring.

Congratz on the ring return! I love the BSA ring as well! I hope I find one!

Excellent story and outcome, thank you for sharing! :occasion14:

Congrats on a nice hunt with extra karma results

You did good! !

Congrats on those nice digs and the karma producing return. :occasion14: I nominated HONORABLE MENTION. I hope to enjoy a return sometime in the future.

Nice token! There is a 1¢ one on tokencatalog.com that is shown as "unknown" location, so I did some checking and see that there was a Henry D. Crayton who had a general store in Furr township in the southwestern corner of Stanly County, NC. That indicates that his postoffice was probably Stanfield. Do you think I am on the right track?

Great job man! I believe in karma....I found and returned a ring a couple years ago. A week or two later I found a Mass silver. Hope you get your karmic reward soon buddy

Yes you are. Building is still there in Stanley Co. We found 3 that day but only one on the store site. Others at the owners (Crayton)home site across street. The 2 guys with me both got a 25 cent token and my friend that invited me has found several 25 cent tokens. I have the only 1.00 token the family has seen. Here is the other side of the token. Thanks for the info. Should I contact someone about these tokens?

Yes that is exactly where we found it and the general store still there. I actually found a $.10 token right in front of the store. My buddy that has permission has found every denomination at the site. One, five, ten, 25 and $1. All tokens are the same size . I do not believe the 50 Cent point has been found. I attached a photo of what the general store looks like. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1458264400.530732.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1458264534.501019.webp

You guys got that after I left. Wasn't aware Troy had gotten all the others. I was in a fog from finding the ring I guess. Thanks for the update.

That's the way it should be done!! Good job!!

Thanks! I just showed the attribution on tokencatalog. It would be great if you could take photos of both sides of the 5¢, 10¢, and 25¢ ones and give me permission to post them on tokencatalog. It is interesting that all of these are the same size - normally a "set" from a general store comes in graduated sizes. What is the diameter?
