aww man! I want your yard!! lol Actually we are pretty blessed in that we can see the same very close to here but not off our own deck. I envy you but I sure feel blessed that you are willing to share the view! :D Thanks!

what kind of camera do you use? thats an awsome pic of the flying hummingbird.

Jonnyrebel00 I have a Canon 20D which I bought to take pictures of Treasure signs, but when I'm not at the treasure site I take pictures while I'm relaxing with an adult beverage on my deck.
Thanks to everyone for all your kind comments, It makes my feel like going out on the deck and having a beer. ;D

With a backyard like that I would become an alcoholic! You wouldn't be able to get me off the deck!! LOL Keep 'em coming

Capt_t I live in Teller county, the nearest big town is Colorado Springs about 25 miles away. Steamboat Springs is mighty pretty country, been there many times, gets a bit snowy in the winter.

TLH, my mother, daughter, and g-son live in colo. springs, and from what I hear you had your fair share of snow also.

What beautiful pictures!
You have some wonderful neighbors.
Thanks for sharing.
:)

Some really nice pics, thanks for posting them. Nice to be able to enjoy them from your back yard.

It must have been a lazy humming bird, don't get to see them sitting very often.

We use to get a lot of them in my front yard in Missouri. I had 3 Humming bird necture feeders out so that may have helped. Once they find them they will always return.

Had a farmer friend who would give me all the field corn I wanted for my corn stands for the squirrels. I had 6 of them in front yard, had to put them in to keep the squirrels out of the bird feeders. It was funny, I would drive down the road going to work in the early mornings and see squirrels running to my home from several streets away.

I greased the poles that held the bird feeders, but all the squirells had grease stripes up their bellies.. ;) that was when I put in the corn stands.

Look forward to more wild life pics.

Read the title and was thinkin "allright girls gone wild ! " ;D Them's some really nice photo's ! Really like the hummer in flight also !

Treasure_Hunter thanks for writing. I've got some humming bird feeders on the deck, that way they come to me and I don't have to chase them all over the yard.I've got the same squirrel problem you had, those critters will clean out the bird feeder I have on the deck in minutes , and leave a huge mess behind. I like your idea of giving them something else to eat I'm going to look into that.

Kieser sousa some of those Elk are girls, and you wanna see wild, just come around here in September during the Rut. :D

Heres a humming bird feeder in action.

You are a very talented photographer and here we can sit back and enjoy it at no cost even! :D

Treasure_Hunter is using the same theory as granny had, she put it in levels, the corn feeder lower on the pole so the squirrels got full before they got to the bird feeder and called it her skyscraper for orphans lol Good luck!

Thanks so much for sharing with us!

The image of your Humming Bird feeder in your last post is awesome! I'd love to be out there with my camera.

I tried several tricks to keep them out of the bird feeders. Hung them on long lines between trees with 2 liter plastic bottles that spun, when that failed I tried large round disks to block entry, they made long jumps from the trees to the ropes past the blockade. ::)

Like mentioned, I tried greasing the poles, they all had grease stripes up their bellies. ???

I yelled at them, they just laughed at me. :o

I stuck 1 corn feeder on a stand in a tree away from the bird feeders and they sat around it like it was a buffet, but the big ones wouldn't let the small squirrels eat, go figure, so they went to the bird feeders. I put out about 5 more of them around the yard and they left the bird feeders alone. ;D

Part of my job had me riding county roads in the country and I had farmer friends who let me pick field corn so I could refill the supply when I needed it.
