Hello all,
I know that many flintlocks were converted over to percussion cap, but that being said I think I’m dealing with a post CW 1800s gun here, rather than an earlier flintlock conversion. Just a bunch. Not sure if anyone can help track down a probable rifle or shotgun from this hammer alone, but since it has that distinctive 90 degree bend in it I hoped it was possible. The short sides where I marked with red the metal is broken by a plow strike, but the rest of the piece the contours are integral as made.
