The shotgun cleaner attachment is making sense...there is a shred of cord or cloth in the hole...

Time to hit Google and substantiate this...

Yes just a guess and I have to admit- a poor one. I have to agree with bigfoot1, it does look like a cleaning jag from a shotgun rod, although I think it was pinned to the rod as it looks like the blunt end has a small hole @ 1/8 back from the end. Is there another hole opposite it? HH
