Posted this previously but wanted to try again and get a wider audience. I've always thought this to be artillery (fuze) related but now that is in question. Anyone have any clue what this could be?

The shotgun cleaner attachment is making sense...there is a shred of cord or cloth in the hole...

Time to hit Google and substantiate this...

Yes just a guess and I have to admit- a poor one. I have to agree with bigfoot1, it does look like a cleaning jag from a shotgun rod, although I think it was pinned to the rod as it looks like the blunt end has a small hole @ 1/8 back from the end. Is there another hole opposite it? HH
