I found this pewter item along a creek, at a Civil War camp n Middle TN. Please let me know if anyone can ID it. The face on the relic kinda looks like a fox, I think.

It's cool looking, but I haven't a clue as to what it could have been part of. Sorry Mike... :dontknow:

I don’t know. I dug one a year ago, and it was brass. It also was a tough ID. This one’s pewter, which is one of the materials for riding crops. Thanks for posting.

The mystery item I found is not a riding crop, and Native American relic is out also. Two members of Middle TN metal detecting club said it’s possibly a decorative whistle, but I’m not sure 🤔.
Any help in Identifying this relic is super appreciated.
