Since you have two identical ones, I would guess they are shoe buckles.

being that you found a pair of them I am inclined to lean towards shoe or sachel buckles...these are shoe buckles....images (1).webp....images.webp...finding a pair is on my bucket list,good one!!!!

I wonder if the ends were supposed to represent the Stars & Bars of the Confederacy? Looking at the prong, this looks old.

Thank you vary much I have old map that shows the house standing at 1857 and they go back further then that I appreciate your help didn't even think of buckles Awsome thank you

Too small for shoe buckles! Shoe buckle are curved to go over foot , perhaps knee buckle or satchel or trunk
