Mystery medal with symbols - **SOLVED** - Odd Fellows piece

[ModernMiner]

I dug this up out in a soybean field yesterday next to a CW era house. As you can see, it lost a battle with a plow.
It is made out of copper and is quite brittle, so I know it will crack if I try to unbend it.
Any idea what this is?
Symbols?
Age?

Hopefully it GOOD luck, and not some bad voodoo piece I just picked up.

Thanks for looking,
MM

What's up Doug.

Hmm, I'm beginning to wonder if it may be affiliated with the Masons now.
It sure is a cool medallion
Some one will ID it.

Good hunting with you yesterday

The Mason's? Didn't they make jars?

Re: Mystery medal with symbols

It might be from the Odd Fellows. I know they use the 3 links symbol.

Wolverine.

Look up Oddfellows (IOOF). They have the crossed staves, heart with hand and 3 link chain.

Wolverine may be right , the chain- Stands for Friendship, Love, and Truth. I think the pins are sheperds crooks-Symbolizes the opening of earth to the heavens. the heart in hand-symbolizes charity. All are symbols of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. So is the all seeing eye.
The animal may be the Lamb of God.

Re: Mystery medal with symbols

Interesting.

WHAT'S AN ODD FELLOW?

A person that is 16-18 years or older who believes in a Supreme Being, Creator and Preserver of the Universe, and is faithful to their Country. Through support of projects in their local community, State/Providence or Nationally that improve or elevate the character of mankind.

Odd Fellowship Teaches

* Wise and serious truths and opens up before its members opportunities for useful service.
* Belief in a Supreme Being, the Creator and Preserver of the Universe.
* The lesson of fraternity, that all are of one family and therefore brethren.
* The importance of the principle of Friendship, Love and Truth.
* The privilege and duty of individual sympathy, mutual assistance and every-day service to ones fellows.
* That humanity was intended to be one harmonious structure.
* That each individual is a unit in that God-made temple.
* Its members how to stand on their own feet, yet walk in step with their neighbors.
* The difference between right and wrong.
* That it is more blessed to give than to receive.

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows began in 18th Century England, it was deemed odd to find people organized for the purpose of giving aid to those in need without recognition and pursuing projects for the benefits of all mankind.

Their deep history began in North America, with the United States and Canada in 1819, and is continually expanding throughout the World where they are a worldwide fraternity in 26 countries. The Odd Fellows and Rebekahs are striving to make the world a better place in which to live, seeking To Improve and Elevate the Character of Mankind. It sounds like decent fraternity
Kind of like what we do here.

Thanks for the ID & info everyone. Wolverine nailed it!
I've never heard of Odd Fellows before. Goodfellas, yes.
Speaking of Goodfellas, I wanted to thank 4-H Mike for inviting me yesterday. I found this piece at one of his 3000 spots.
We'll mark this one as SOLVED.

I have no clue what this is. It is big.. About 10 inchs x 6 inchs wide.

This piece has all your symbols on it. I believe it is from the late 1800's. There was a I.O.O.F lodge in my town from 1886-1890ish
