I uncovered this stone that had diamond like crystals inside and seems to be made of mostly sandstone. It was found in central Kansas if that helps any.

You'll probably have better luck getting the correct iidentification of your stone over in TreasureNet's "Rocks/Gems" forum... which is whee the rock-hounds and Mineralogists hang out. More and better photos will help. Post them at the link below:

Most likely they are calcite crystals.
